Like us, WWD says that instead of spending your time trying to get reconnected, treat the downtime as an opportunity to get things done instead.

Specifically, blogger Celine Roque says that taking advantage of an outage by establishing times and locations that are off limits to the web can help get you into the habit of disconnecting routinely. She’s scheduled her internet-free time for an hour after lunch, but says you can set shorter times if that works better. In addition to time blocks, she also says it’s important to institute location-based zones, also known as physical zones where you shouldn’t be online. In her case, that includes the dining table and bedroom (so put those BlackBerrys and iPhones away).

What do you think of setting internet-free time and location zones? Do you try to limit your surfing hours or set no-internet zones? Let’s hear about it in the comments.
